North Dighton is the village end of our home town — its own post office, its own ZIP (02764), and most mornings, our first stops of the day. The old mill village grew up along the Three Mile River where Dighton meets Taunton.
Village lawns here are a mix: compact older yards on the mill-era streets, and bigger modern lots in the neighborhoods that filled in around them. We treat both, usually on the same morning.
The older blocks near the river carry classic village-lawn conditions — smaller yards, mature trees, soil compacted by a century of use. The older blocks carry real street-tree shade — maples that cool the sidewalk and thin the turf on north-facing front yards. Moss along the shaded strips is a pH-and-light story, not a watering one: lime by test, fine fescue in the overseed mix, and mowing high keep those strips green instead of green-ish.
Being five minutes from the shop means North Dighton gets the tightest timing we offer: pre-emergent lands the week forsythia blooms, grub prevention before July egg-lay, aeration the week conditions turn right in late August. When a window opens, this village is where the truck goes first.
Compact village lawns are the easiest in our book to water well: an inch a week, split across two early mornings, covers most yards from a single sprinkler position per zone. On district water with seasonal guidance, that modest schedule carries a program lawn green through a normal summer without a second thought.
