Within a few hundred feet of the bay, salt decides what grows. Kentucky bluegrass burns; turf-type tall fescues and slender creeping red fescues shrug it off. Every Ocean Grove renovation we do starts by changing the species mix — after that, feeding and care behave normally again.

Grove soil drains instantly and holds almost no nutrients, so quick-release fertilizer washes toward the bay instead of feeding your lawn. We use slow-release granular products and build the soil’s organic matter season over season — it holds a little more every year, and the lawn shows it.
